John Ross is a seasoned agricultural professional with a lifelong connection to the Woolsthorpe area, located just 30 minutes north of Warrnambool in South West Victoria. Growing up on a sheep and beef property, John developed a deep appreciation for agriculture early in life.

 

After completing high school, he served in the Australian Army, specialising in Transport and Logistics, where he gained valuable experience in operations across Australia and Abroad. Upon returning to his roots, John discovered his passion for agriculture, which has grown over the past 19 years. His diverse roles in the industry include Shearing Hand, Stud Beef Cattle Farm Hand, and Pasture & Fertiliser Agronomy. He has experience in Rural Merchandise Sales and Management, Precision Agriculture Sales, HR & Safety Management, and Machinery Sales & Management. His time in sales and client management across Victoria has established him as a respected figure in the agricultural community.

 

In addition to his career, John is committed to his local community. A keen admirer of Aussie Rules Football, he transitioned from playing to volunteering in administrative roles within the Hampden Football Netball League. His leadership contributions include a year as League President, followed by three years as Football Manager at the South Warrnambool Football Netball Club. Currently, he serves as President of the club, where he oversees the management of over 24 teams in football and netball.
